Soil
Strength, Stress-strain relationship
This test method covers the determination of strength and stress-strain relationships of a cylindrical specimen of either an undisturbed or remolded saturated cohesive soil. Specimens are isotropically consolidated and sheared in compression with drainage at a constant rate of axial deformation (strain controlled).

Minimum of 1.3 in diameter, with a height-to-average diameter of 2-2.5, with minimum particle size 1/6 the diameter. Can perform on up to 6" diameter x 12" high specimens
back pressure saturation; consolidated drained strength; effective stresses; non-cohesive soil; strain-controlled loading; stress-strain relationships, CD triaxial, pore pressure
