Sean O’Brien is the President of Geocomp focused on growing each of our four divisions: Monitoring, Testing, Consulting, and Products. Sean previously led numerous businesses through substantial growth, implementing award-winning – Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs and pioneering improvements to company cultures. He received his MBA from Babson College, a MS degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Tufts University and a BS in Environmental Engineering from Norwich University.

Dr. Allen Marr, Founder and Former CEO of Geocomp, has over 50 years of specialized expertise in design and construction of large earthwork facilities, value engineering for earthworks and earth retention systems, risk management for underground construction, and instrumentation and real-time monitoring systems. He has spent his entire professional career focused on incorporating the benefits of applied research in geo-engineering into civil engineering practice.

As Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Gary Torosian is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Geocomp and GeoTesting Express. He works collaboratively with Geocomp’s President, Sean P. O’Brien, to provide leadership and guidance to each of the firm’s divisions and support functions. He helps each of Geocomp’s divisions develop and implement business plans consistent with the company’s vision for financial, quality, health and safety, and servicing objectives. As COO, Gary is directly responsible for the Accounting & Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology.

Lynn Ambler is Geocomp’s Controller. Lynn studied accounting at SUNY Oswego in New York and has over 40 years of experience in accounting from small start up companies to large corporations. Lynn has worked in a variety of industries including technology and engineering consulting firms. She is in charge of day to day financial activities, managing cash, accounts receivable, providing necessary reports to help improve efficiency as well as completing monthly reporting to our parent company, Sercel, and working with auditors and tax accountants.

Lara Lavelle is Geocomp and GeoTesting Express’ Human Resources Manager. Lara grew up near Brighton in the UK, which is about 47 miles from the capital of London. After completing her bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Psychology from Winchester University, she then went on to focus her studies specifically in Human Resources, gaining a master’s degree in Strategic People Management. Lara has 18 years of experience in HR working across a variety of industries, with the last 10 of those years being at Geocomp and Sercel’s parent company, Veridien.

Aaron Epstein is a Professional Engineer with more than 30 years of experience in geotechnical and environmental disciplines, including roadway, bridge, mid to high-rise commercial, residential, and government buildings, sewer, dam, and tunnel projects. He has significant experience in geotechnical and structural instrumentation and monitoring, automated data acquisition systems (ADAS), slope stability analysis, earth dam evaluations, mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) walls, ground improvement, sinkholes/karst evaluations and deep foundation design.

Ryan Drefus has more than 20 years of experience with geotechnical engineering projects in dense urban areas. He has strong technical expertise overseeing geotechnical instrumentation for large transportation and infrastructure projects, along with proven project management skills. His work experience includes designing and servicing automated testing systems and associated instrumentation for projects in dense urban areas. His expertise also encompasses instrumentation and monitoring of existing structures, structural elements (i.e. piles, tie-downs), and remote data acquisition via wireless interfaces.

Brian Jones is our Director of Business Development & Marketing, having joined Geocomp in 2018 with 18 years of experience in geological and geophysical consulting and sales of high-tech equipment for engineering applications. He has a B.S. degree in Geosciences from Boston College and is an active member of various industry associations and societies. Brian leads and executes the strategic growth of our four divisions by managing and supporting our business development and marketing team, collaborating with technical leadership to deliver winning proposals, exploring new markets, engaging clients, and developing competitive strategies.

Joe Tomei has extensive experience with all aspects of GeoTesting Express’ (GTX) laboratory and field testing capabilities. As Vice President and Director of Testing Services for GTX, he is responsible for the overall management of all our laboratories.  This includes producing high-quality test results, achieving 100% client satisfaction, serving as client liaison, maintaining quality control and quality assurance of laboratory procedures, and leading GTX’s business development activities.

Antonios Vytiniotis has background in structural and geotechnical engineering, geotechnical earthquake engineering, and numerical analysis. He has performed research on the seismic response of pile-supported wharves, seismic slope stability, the effectiveness of prefabricated vertical drains (earthquake drains) and soil densification in reducing liquefaction risk, the effect of gravel drains in amplifying seismic accelerations, and numerical simulations of centrifuge experiments. Antonios has also testified and participated in multiple proceedings including mediations and arbitrations.
