The ShearTrac II in direct/residual shear or direct simple shear (static or cyclic) configuration is a fully automated shear and load frame combination system allowing both vertical and horizontal load and displacement applications. They incorporate independent electromechanical micro-stepper motor systems for superior precision and repeatable results.

ShearTrac II can run in stand-alone mode (ideal for teaching) or can be connected to a PC for full automation from test start to finish. Being compact, tabletop setups with flexibility to perform a wide range of shear and compression tests the ShearTrac II is an ideal system for any lab.

Description

The ShearTrac II operates as an intelligent shear and load frame combination allowing both vertical and horizontal load and displacement applications. Two force transducers (horizontal and vertical) and two displacement transducers (horizontal and vertical) offer feedback to provide real-time control by computer. It incorporates independent motor systems (micro-stepper or servo) that offer superior precision and repeatability.

A ShearTrac II unit can be configured to run direct shear, residual shear, direct simple shear, cyclic direct simple shear, unconfined compression, consolidation (1-D incremental or CRC/CRS), and swell testing.
