Standard Method of Test for Determining Minimum Laboratory Soil Resistivity

Test Method Title

Standard Method of Test for Determining Minimum Laboratory Soil Resistivity

Reference Number

AASHTO T 288

Material

Soil

Test Property

minimum soil resistivity, minimum soil electrical resistivity

Description of Test

The electrical resistivity is measured on an air dried specimen of the soil. The test is repeated by adding 100 mL of distilled water, mixing, and re-placing the soil in the test apparatus. This process is repeated until a minimum value of resistance is found.
