Description of Test
Concrete is sampled in accordance with AASHTO R 60. The temperature of fresh concrete is measured in the field. The probe of a thermometer is inserted into freshly sampled concrete such that the probe is surrounded by at least 3-inches of concrete in all directions. The concrete is compressed around the thermometer using the fingers. The thermometer is allowed to stabilize for a minimum of 2 minutes before the reading is recorded, but within 5 minutes of obtaining the sample.
